Bishop Spalding Approves Mother Teresa to Launch Capital Campaign

Mother Teresa Catholic Church has reached an exciting new milestone in its journey toward building a permanent church home. This past week, Bishop J. Mark Spalding officially granted approval for the parish to move forward with its capital campaign, marking a significant step forward in the parish’s ongoing growth and mission.

In his letter of approval, Bishop Spalding shared words of encouragement for the parish community, saying, “Father Mark, I commend your leadership and the Mother Teresa Catholic Church community's commitment to building a permanent home for your parish. This capital campaign will support the growth of your faith community and provide a sacred space for generations to come. Be assured of my prayers and support as you undertake this important work.”

“Our parish family has been so faithful and patient as we have prayed, planned, and prepared for this moment,” said Fr. Mark Simpson, Pastor of Mother Teresa Catholic Church. “Receiving Bishop Spalding’s approval is a great blessing—it’s a tangible sign that we are ready to take the next step in building a sacred space for generations to come.”

With this approval, the parish will now begin the early stages of campaign planning. In the months ahead, parish leadership will continue developing a timeline and sharing more details with the community as plans unfold.

“This is an important milestone in our journey of faith,” Fr. Simpson said. “We have much work ahead, but I am filled with hope and excitement for what God is doing through our parish. Together, we will build not just a church building, but a home where Christ will be encountered and lives will be transformed.”

Fr. Simpson expressed deep gratitude for the many prayers, generosity, and commitment that have brought the parish to this point. “Thank you for your continued support,” he said. “I look forward to walking with all of you as we begin this sacred journey together.”
